CHRISTMAS TREE IN BRAZIL

As in most countries, Brazil uses the classic tree to decorate the Christmas environment. This does not seem to have anything innovative, but it turns out that Brazil is home to the largest Christmas tree in the world, something that we can certainly add to the list of curiosities about Brazil. The lighting of this tree becomes a way in which Christmas is celebrated in Brazil, since its inauguration is an event that is seen by thousands of people, from residents to tourists.

The inauguration of this tree is accompanied by a light show, fireworks, water jets and music, the interpretation of which is provided by the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. This tree can be seen in the city of Rio de Janeiro every year. It has a height of 85 meters and weighs 530 tons. In addition, it has 3 million lights and is floating in the middle of the Rodrigo de Reitas lagoon, on a base of 810 square meters.

Brazilians also install the Christmas tree in their homes and streets. And they decorate it with the traditional objects that we use here, but also with flowers from their gardens. For example, in Rio de Janeiro the Árvore Natal da Lagoa is already a tradition, which is installed in the middle of the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon.
